Skjld Diktat turns Norwegian speech into clean text wherever your cursor is, in any program. It works on Windows, Mac and Linux, and speech recognition and language clean-up run on our own servers in Sandefjord.

The desktop app

The app sits in the background. Hold Ctrl + Space on Windows and Linux or Option + Space on Mac, speak and release. The text is pasted where you are writing.
No integration is needed. If you have a text box, you can dictate into it.

Speech recognition and language clean-up run on our own servers. Traffic passes through Cloudflare, which forwards it to Sandefjord.
- Not stored by us. Audio and transcripts are deleted after processing. We keep only the necessary technical metadata.
- Local history is yours. The desktop app can store history on your device. We have no access to it.
- Norwegian contracts. A data processing agreement in Norwegian, and invoices for organisations.
- Not for patient records. The standard service is not intended for patient records or other special categories of personal data under GDPR Article 9.

Is this a voice assistant?
No. Skjld Diktat is pure dictation. You speak instead of typing and get text. There is no chatbot and no assistant answering you.
Which programs does it work in?
The text is pasted at the cursor, so it works in email, Word, the browser, developer tools and the terminal, with no integration needed.
Which platforms are supported?
You can use it in the browser, or install a light app on Windows, Mac or Linux.
Does it need the internet?
Yes. Recognition and language clean-up run on our servers in Sandefjord, so you need a connection.
Where do my words go?
Audio and transcripts are processed on our servers in Sandefjord and are not stored by us after processing. Traffic passes through Cloudflare.
Can we run it on our own servers?
Yes. On-prem is available on request, for organisations and public bodies with their own requirements.
